What is Cholesterol?

>> Thursday, September 17, 2009

Cholesterol is called lipoprotein, which is either high or low density (HDL or LDL). It's a substance found among fats circulating in the blood and body’s cells. Our body produces cholesterol but most comes from animal products. The good cholesterol is called HDL; the bad cholesterol is called LDL.

The good cholesterol plays an important role in our body; but the bad one, of course, is not healthy. It can actually cause a heart disease when it clogs the arteries, and stroke when it clogs the brain.
